Meet our Office Administrator: Rhona Farquhar

What is your job title and responsibilities?

Office Administrator

I oversee the day-to-day operations of the office and I am responsible for providing essential administrative and organisational support.  I also assist with HR matters to ensure the efficient functioning of the office.

What does a normal workday look like for you?

As an Office Administrator there tends not be a ‘normal’ day.  The best laid plans can be changed depending on what is happening at the time.  However, most days, emails are checked and prioritised, invoices created and sent to customers and invoices from suppliers recorded and paid in a timely manner.  There may be meetings to arrange,  contact with our landlord, holiday records to co-ordinate, policies, procedures and HR records to be updated.  I also support the team and of course ensure there are plenty of treats and snacks for everyone!

What talents or skills does someone in this job need to have?

Organisational skills are vital in a position where there are always a number of balls in the air at any given time.  Trust and confidentiality is paramount.

What do you like most about your job?

  • I feel a valued part of the Salus team as suggestions and ideas are listened to.
  • The variety on a day-to-day basis.
  • It’s very much ‘heads down’ but we always have time for some fun too.

What do you want to achieve by 2027?

I am at the stage in my life where by 2027 I am hoping to be on a beach somewhere hot with a cocktail in my hand.

What has been your favourite project to work on so far?

When I first arrived at Salus, there were a number of policies and procedures to be organised, checked, amended and numbered – I’m almost there.

If you had an unnecessary superpower, what would it be?

It would be handy to have another pair of hands to be able to open the office door when locked while also juggling a couple of cups of coffee and bowl of breakfast at the same time.  This superpower would ensure all risks are avoided.
