Salus Technical and its partner charity, Blue Light Minds

At Salus Technical, we believe that safety goes beyond systems and procedures, it starts with real people. That’s why we’re proud to support Blue Light Minds, a charity dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of emergency service workers across Scotland.

Who are Blue Light Minds?

Blue Light Minds is a registered Scottish charity that provides free, confidential Trauma-Focused therapy to Scottish Emergency Service Workers who are experiencing mental health challenges after attending a traumatic incident at work. All treatments provided are evidence-based and recommended by the NICE guidelines. Examples of these include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.

Why Their Work Matters

Emergency Service workers face distressing and traumatic incidents as part of their daily jobs, often without the time or support to process what they’ve experienced. Left untreated, this can lead to long-term mental health struggles like PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Blue Light Minds exists to bridge the gap, offering fast, confidential help so that those who keep us safe can get the support they deserve.

Safe and Secure Treatment

All therapy provided through Blue Light Minds is delivered by qualified mental health professionals who are fully registered with appropriate regulatory bodies. We prioritise safety, confidentiality, and clinical effectiveness, offering care that is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and always focused on the individual’s needs.

Ways to Support

There are numerous ways to support Blue Light Minds with their mission.

  1. Fundraising Events and Challenges: Why not host a bake sale, organise a charity walk, or run an auction – these are just a few ideas, remember every effort makes a difference. You can also take part in a sponsored event. There are many events of this sort running throughout the year; marathons, open water swims, or any challenge that pushes your limits for a good cause.
  2. Shopping with Give as You Live: Give As You Live partners with your favourite retailers so that every purchase you make results in a donation to Blue Light Minds, at no extra cost to you. It’s like cashback, but for a cause.
  3. Become a Corporate Partner: Support can also come from the workplace. Set up payroll giving or nominate Blue Light Minds as your ‘Charity of the Year’, or sponsor therapy sessions through initiatives like ‘Sponsor an emergency worker’. Gifts in Kind, such as event venues, software, and expert advice, are also valuable. Placing donation boxes at checkouts can be helpful.
  4. Make a Personal Donation: Every contribution counts.  A donation of £90 can provide an hour’s session for an emergency service worker in need. To make a donation, click here.

By standing behind Blue Light Minds, we’re helping the people who are always there when we need them. Should you know any emergency service worker who needs help, reach out to Blue Light Minds at 0141 459 1394 or Information@bluelightminds.org.uk
