Meet our Senior Software Developer: Jack Griffiths

What is your job title and responsibilities?
My job title is Senior Software Developer. My responsibilities are developing our software products and reviewing changes made by our other developers.
What does a normal workday look like for you?
First thing in the morning I have a catch-up with the developers where we briefly talk about what we are working on and any challenges we are facing. Afterwards, I begin working on the software changes that are assigned to me. Often this will lead to discussions with the rest of the team to ensure we are developing the software in the right direction.
What do you like most about your job?
I like that we are building interesting software that provides real value to customers. The team is also great to work with. I always feel I can share my thoughts on new features or requirements.
What talents or skills does someone in this job need to have?
I think it is important to be able to communicate with people who are not developers without using too much jargon. Skills like problem-solving, analytical thinking and attention to detail are also necessary.
What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My favourite project so far was developing a feature in Bowtie Master called LOPA. This was one of the most requested features so there was excitement within Salus Technical that we were finally adding it to our software.
What do you like to do outside work, have you any hobbies / activities?
I enjoy playing padel, running and watching Formula 1.
If you had an unnecessary superpower, what would it be?
An unnecessary superpower I would like is to be able to instantly untangle headphones. Maybe it’s time to buy wireless ones.
