What is your job title and responsibilities?
My main responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. This includes coordinating with the different departments within the company, managing schedules and projects and handling some administrative tasks. Along with optimising processes and ensuring that our team have everything they need to do their jobs and to continue to deliver the high-quality service they already do.
What does a normal workday look like for you?
Every day is very different in my role there is no “normal day”. I start by catching up on emails and messages and reviewing my always long “to do” list and addressing any immediate concerns.
Throughout the day I work between things like P&L reviews, HR related tasks, prepare for new hires, to larger one off projects like arranging our upcoming office move and preparing for accreditations and audits.
What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy that every day is different and brings new challenges and opportunities for me to learn and grow. Things are definitely never boring at Salus!
However, the thing I like most about my job is the team I work with. We have an amazing workplace culture where everyone looks out for each other and are really supportive. Although I have only been here 3 months I feel as though I have been here years and that is due to the community spirit and warm welcome from my amazing team members. I feel very lucky to be part of this team!
What do you want to achieve by 2029?
By 2029 I hope to still be here contributing to the growth and efficiency of Salus Technical. My “big” birthday will be coming up so I hope I will have a holiday of a lifetime somewhere hot and sunny that I will be looking forward to! (hint to my other half)
What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My favourite project so far has been finding our team their new home at Neospace. We move our office there at the end of July 2024. The process of viewing locations, negotiating terms and designing the new office space to suit our teams’ needs was extremely fulfilling. Especially when I took the team for a visit there and they loved it!
I am looking forward to working on attaining our ISO27001 accreditation as my next big project, beginning in the coming weeks. Having this will enhance our commitment to protecting clients data and should be both challenging and rewarding for me to work on.
If you had an unnecessary superpower, what would it be?
This is a hard one! There are so many – flying, would be great and save me a lot of time, to be in two places at once, also super helpful or the ability to make a 7 year old do as they are told first time would be fantastic 😉. But my ultimate superpower would definitely be to control the weather.
I would make sure it’s always hot and sunny. Everything seems better when its sunny and it lifts everyone’s mood. And what better way to spend your evenings and weekends after work than relaxing in the sun in the garden with a nice cold glass of wine!
