Tell us a bit about your career before starting at Salus Technical?
I’m a technical safety engineer with 4.5 years’ experience performing work for the oil & gas, chemicals and renewables industries, with the latter part being a health and safety manager in the construction sector.
How did you find out about the Senior Process Safety Engineer role and what were your motivations for applying?
I applied for the position at Salus Technical following seeing an opening on LinkedIn, as I was excited by the opportunities presented in supporting the growth and expansion of the business. Salus has a number of exciting software products released, and also under development, which for me lined up with my MSc in Risk & Safety Management dissertation topic. Having exposure to technical safety consultancy work as well as working on software is an opportunity that does not come by often!
Salus Technical stood out to me, as it has a similar mission statement to my own personal values, these being to make a safer world and to make safety easy to understand for all.
What are you working on right now and how are you finding it?
I am excited for the release of Salus’ Research paper on the most common issues identified by the HSE during offshore inspections. This is a game changer for the oil & gas industry, and something that hasn’t been done before. Currently, I’m working on reviewing this document, as well as developing blog content for it’s release. In 2023, my work will be primarily supporting and managing projects in the Consulting team, to make sure our clients get the best possible work.
What is the most interesting aspect of working for Salus Technical?
I love the creative and innovative nature of Salus, and the company mission to make Process Safety easily understood. A company that isn’t just content in turning over work but wanting to add real value to it’s clients and the industry, is an excellent approach! I look forward to getting stuck in.
